Flippin' 'eck, it's cold. It's cold to the point that the big fishpond, outside the HUMS Cafe, is completely frozen over, to a depth of a couple of inches (and capable of bearing human weight). More snow, less ice please, Winter. We get the point.

I'm currently sleeping under a duvet, a blanket and an unzipped sleeping bag, and considering getting another blanket from somewhere. We have double glazing and gas central-heating, which was only turned off a little over an hour ago after running all day. I have NO IDEA how cold it must be inside less fortunate peoples' houses right now. It's at times like these that the homeless charities, and the elderly, and all the vulnerable facets of society, need an extra close eye kept, I guess. Still, until relatively recently, the concept of "freezing to death" was a strange one. Our last few winters have been so mild...
